The secrete to sharpening has always been maintaining the same correct angle throughout the sharpening process.  The jig and stones with metal guides make that a easy thing to accomplish for even the beginner. 

Take it from me, I sharpened literally hundreds of knives every year and the only foolproof way to ensure perfect results every time is to use this system.  The unique jig is simple and easy to lock your knife blade into.  Select the angle you wish to use.
